The monthly "Ask Your Friends" playlist includes featured artists Sara has collaborated with, cool classics, and other fresh picks.

For March, we have a special guest Ask Your Friends curated by Shelby Chenault aka Funk Shui Fine Jewlery.  

"I crafted this playlist as a small glimpse into my soul, featuring the first boom bap tracks I discovered that shaped my love for hip-hop.

My taste was influenced by songs I discovered through Pretty Lights Music, initially drawn in by the original songs sampled in my favorite tracks. Hip-hop has always been an homage to the music that came before it, with artists in the '80s and '90s sampling their parents' soul, blues, and jazz records. Each generation continues to sample the greats who came before them, adding new layers and breathing new life into the music.

In my mind, Pretty Lights Music is the next evolution of this heritage, and at its core is hip-hop. It’s the bridge between genres, time, and generations, swirling it all together into something that is deeply profound to me. I hope you enjoy this playlist and I’m sure you will recognize some popular samples from our favorite band.
