Speak Up Reach Out is a non-governmental organization that works to reduce instances of suicide in Eagle County and help those affected by suicide to process their pain. Through educational programs, events, peer groups, and partnerships, SURO brings community members together to share their unique experiences - because discussing suicide has the power to heal.
A Stitch In Time is donating to this cause specifically because it has a major impact on our Colorado mountain communities and is close to our Founder & Owner Sara's heart.
The hoodie includes a powerful statement made by Johann Hari in his 2018 TedTalk about addiction and how important connection to community is for recovering addicts. Derek Vincent Smith also made the same statement during his Mission Ballroom run in Denver Colorado. On the right sleeve includes the suicide prevention hotline number "988".
